The Rioter’s Fallacy

Join Fluffyshotme Photography in showing support for our country’s law enforcement officers.

In the recent weeks, we have all witnessed protestors and rioters pushing the narrative of ACAB (All Cops Are Bastards.) This ACAB movement is built on the belief that police regularly abuse their authority and these people are standing up to show they are no longer afraid of their oppressors; but, is this true?If one were to subscribe to the cliché, “Actions speak louder than words,” then one would have to conclude that the ACAB narrative is false.

These large groups of protestors are getting in the faces of the police and hurling insults towards them, as if trying to pick a fight. The protestors have no rules, no boundaries. The police, however, have stringent rules that they must adhere to; knowing this only emboldens the protestors to be louder.Chants of “No Justice, No Peace, F— the Police;” calling police officers pigs, bullying police for being short, fat, black, white, Hispanic, Gay, straight, Christian and whatever else they may choose to attack. It sounds like an elementary school playground with bullies just trying to get a response. These verbal attacks become assaults when the protestors state they will “Kick you’re a–,” “We’ll kill you,” “The only good cop is a dead cop,” the list goes on. Of course, at times, the rioters choose violence to make their statement and that is completely wrong.

But, if someone was truly afraid of law enforcement and believed the cops were out of control murderers, would they walk up and hurl insults to their face? Of course not.The only reason that these protestors walk up to police officers and feel safe enough to hurl insults without fear of being hurt is because they know truth is police have self-control and live according to a higher standard. These agitators who are trying to provoke a response have no rules. If a police officer breaks a rule, they are called out as a hypocrite and publicly flogged in the media. Yet, the protestors having no rules places them in a place of privilege, being untouchable and anonymous. This places the protestors at the advantage and they essentially can do what they want without fear of repurcussions.

This is what I call the Rioter’s Fallacy, while they may be screaming at the top of their lungs that “All Cops Are Bastards,” they demonstrate through their actions what we all have known – The police are honorable men and women who dedicate their lives to protect the public, even those who will disagree with them.

NOTE : I believe it is every American’s duty to stand up to oppression, regardless of where that oppression comes from. When police officers act outside of the scope of their duty, they should be prosecuted. But the majority of police officers in the United States are good people and they save lives daily. Please reach out to the law enforcement officers that you know and tell them that you appreciate what they do; they are under attack from all sides at the moment. I fear that many of the good ones will just quit leaving the public to deal with crime without them.

Fluffyshotme Photography supports our Nations Law Enforcement officers and asks that you join in praying for every officer on the streets.
